The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. Can we say that they are the key to sustainability?
The Global goals as a challenge in developing countries
In developing countries, the adoption of Global Goals by the United Nation was taken as a key to sustainability at one hand and as a challenge at the other hand.
The number one SDG , No poverty l ooks like it is a good start. If all human being, wherever they are can join their hands to fight poverty, it is very understandable that things will change.
In developing countries, these UNSDGS are very difficult to apply, for most of the inhabitants are farmers without enough resources.
To end poverty, we are all called to action. This is a challenge because many families live with minus one dollar per day and, victims of hunger, they are unable to preserve their tomorrow.
Many developing countries live in depts of developed countries. This is another thing that stops them to act as one man. Living by the gifts of developed countries, they are unable to fight poverty.
The global goals require modern agriculture and livestock. To get fertilizer and compost is not easy for these farmers who are not working in associations.
With the global goals, this world can be transformed into a better place to live. It is important to underline that is it difficult to apply the SDGs in our daily life, but this is the challenge everyone must take to ensure the success of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Additionally, the ignorance is stopping many people in many countries around the world. This is one of the reasons why this blog was launched to spread the world. we need to continue sensitizing and educating people. This is only way to making the # Agenda2030 happen.
Although we have the 17 UNSDGs, many countries are still struggling and are experiencing difficulties. It is unfortunate to notice that in some countries, the SDGs are not properly.
The lack of dissemination leading to the lack of information, many organizations struggle to align their work with the SDGs making them irrelevant for the ecosystem we need to attain the 17 objectives.
The global goals are very good and practical guidelines to everyone who wants to act fo r changes. Remember that if you want to go fast you go alone but, if you want to go far you go together. The first UNSDG, well applied is the key to a good life. It is a call for the unity of the world in the fight against poverty and its consequences.
It is good for developing countries to decide what to do and how to do it. My suggestion is that they go in the journey starting by the first SDG. Each country can see how to organize its population in order to help them apply the global goals.
The change is not something that can happen in one day or two, it is a process. It is a good time for all of us to see that the global goals are the way to sustainability and the only option to secure a decent life for the future generations.
When poverty will be ended, hunger will run away. When hunger will run away, no war, no atomic bombs, no suicide again because peace will be reigning in the whole world. No evil plan. Let us join our hands and act as one man using the global goals to end poverty, protect our planet and enjoy the peace and prosperity.
